I smiled and fell back into the sand.

I watched her flop down onto the sand. I stared completely bored. "Uh so..... do you wanna go swimming or something???" I asked watching her stare up at the sky.

"Marceline," I smiled as I pulled a little package. As I stepped on it a trampoline came up out of the box. "My aunt has tons of these, like she has a box with a pair of drums in it!" I smiled looking to talk. "Want to get on?" I asked climbing up onto the trampoline.

I didn't answer, just jumped on the trampoline. Laughing like a little girl. A normal little girl. I started to feel dizzy and light headed. Before you knew it, I blacked out on the rubber.

I got the trampoline back in the box and laid the girl on the sand. I knew exactly what to do, my mother was a part-time nurse. I got a really strong mint sprig and put it under her nose. The mint was a really strong smell so..

I flinched ever so slightly. I have had this flashback before but, my father never smelt like mint. . . Minutes later, I started coughing and sat upright. I've always hated mint "Ew! I hate mint!" I coughed more.

I chuckled something pulling it away. "I can tell," I giggled pushing some hair out of my face. "You blacked out, I knew you needed something strong to wake yourself up. The mint saved you, don't be a hater on it," I said sternly.

"I'm still a hater." I grumbled. "Thanks though. That's the first time someone pulled me from a fla-" I shut my mouth tight. Stupid, stupid, stupid! How could I be so careless to let that slip!"

I could practically read her mind. My eyes became soft, so did my voice too. "Flashbacks?" I finished softly looking at her with a more caring way. It seemed she was embarrassed by it, but even though I read her mind once, meant I couldn't do it again.
