A boy looked at the lake, thinking of how he got here. It all started when he joined a gang at the age of 10. He started his crimes with insulting police, then he got brave a few years later and egged a police car, then, a year later, the gang fights started. After a few years, he was called Demon from his reputation as a gang fighter and his new found stealing ability. Just recently, he stole a gun and ran into a police man he knew pretty good from all his other so called mishaps. He had just pulled out the gun from it's hiding spot as the policeman saw him. When the boy saw the policeman, he took off at a dead run with the policeman right behind him. Once he was caught, there was an argument about what was to happen to him and it ended in agreement that he'd spend a few years in a reform school before going to a camp. Now here he was, at the camp.
The boy crouched down and grabbed a few stones as he thought about how everyone was saying that this was his second chance at life. Hos chance to turn things around. He threw a stone.
One. Two. Three. Four skips.
He knew it was too late to turn his life around, but decided to amuse them by doing these things without running away. Again. He threw the second stone.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five skips.
Once this summer is over, he decided, he was going to run from the millionth summer camp they tried to put him in. He threw the third stone. One stone left in his hand.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven skips.
He was the boy called Demon. The boy named Seth Oscar Simons.

"De-- Seth. Seth Simons." he said softly, throwing the last stone.
One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten skips.
Seth stood up and looked at her. "Who are you?" he asked, almost matching the tone she gave him, as he wiped his hands free of dirt.

Seth nodded and studied her. "Pretty snappy for an Aphrodite girl." he said.

She laughed "it runs in the family. Who is your olympian parent?" she asked him. She started playing with her daggers

"Motochika." Seth said, looking at the lake. "He is a minor god, doubt you'd know of him." He looked back at Jatta, moving his hair out of his eyes.

Seth chuckled. He might end up having one friend here. "That is true." he said, picking up a rock and threw it at the lake. He didn't need to count to know it was eleven skips. Close to his best.
