Old Pains Never Wash Away

[Seth]

<sub>Seth sat on a bed with his head in his hands. His cell phone sitting next to him. So much had happened recently. It was too much. Way too much. He met the girl of his dreams, learned of his past, and hurt her in less than a couple months, give or take a couple of weeks. He'd been gone for a month now.

During the time he'd be gone from camp, he had tried vainly to ease the pains of Jatta. One of the more recent attempts was dating other girls. So far he was on his fourth one for the past three weeks.

Glancing at his phone, he thought about the most recent girl. She reminded him so much of Jatta that he found himself almost calling her Jatta. Right now he just wanted to talk to Jatta, not the stranger who was trying to replace her. He wanted to apologize for everything he did. Ask her if she forgave him. But she probably has moved on and went back to Jasper.

That's how it should be. The old way. Jatta, the girl who would be obviously out of his league. The girl who he'd never see since she was at camp. The girl who deserved Jasper so much more than she deserved Seth. Seth, the boy who hid in a gang. The boy who was a criminal. The boy who listened to no laws. Why was it so hard to fall back into old habits?

Seth sighed as his phone broke his thoughts. The phone flashed 'Alyssa'. Overprotective girlfriend. She had just stopped by his apartment an hour or two ago. He picked up with a sigh. "Hey, Babe." he said. He listened to Alyssa's worried voice as she skipped over formalities and asked him what was wrong. "Nothing. I promise. I'm just having a hard day, that's all." he lied smoothly. He shut out her worries as she ranted and went back into thought about Jatta until Alyssa said, "Seth? Seth?" Seth sighed. 'Babe, I'll call you back, I've got somethings to do." he said before hanging up. He sat the phone down and laid down onto the bed.

His phone started ringing again. Seth cursed under his breath and glanced to see if who was calling....</sub>

[Serenity]

Cole had searched and searched. Fianly he'd found the number. He could have just asked his father, but he was not on good terms at the moment. Seth had bertayed him. Turned against him right after they'd made a deal. He hand't killed him liek he should and could have, but that currently didn't matter. Cole needed him for an allie.
He waited for Seth to answer.

[Seth]

_{Seth looked at the unfamiliar number and sighed. Great. He picked the phone up and hit the answer button. "Hello?" he asked with a little bit of uncertainty. Hopefully it wasn't some solicitor or anything of that sort.}

[Serenity]

Cole grinned when he answered.
"Hello, Seth." he said. 'you know who i am right?"

[Seth]

<sub>Great. Cole had his number. With the thought of Cole, came the sharp memories of camp. Camp... Wonderful memories.

Seth shook the thoughts out. "What do you want, Cole?" he said, mildly annoyed.</sub>

[Serenity]

"WHat? I couldn't have called for a normal reason? Just to say hi?" He asked, without his usual sarcasum, though it was still there benith the fake acting of his voice.

[Xemu]

"You aren't calling just to say 'hi' are you?" Seth asked. "Remember, I betrayed you once, you should want to kill me not treat me like a friend. And I never gave you my number."

Yes, he was getting a bit more annoyed. He knew Cole had to have a reason to do all that work to find his number and call him. So, why wasn't he getting straight to the point?

[Serenity]

"Fair enough.....And no. I didn't call to say hi. I wanted to know why to left.' He said casualy.

[Xemu]

_{"Why I left? It's a long story." he said, wondering what Cole's point in calling was.}

[Serenity]

"I've got time" he answered drily. "You abandoned me.I want to know why. Now."
