He slowed his pace when he saw Serenity's soul.The shock from seeing her had kept him -mostly-from breaking down,and he would have now but he had something more important and more useful then groveling on the ground for her forgiveness.That didn't mean however that he wasn't pained to see her ghostly form.
things will be made right soon enough.Jose thought to himself.He regained his pace ,till he stood before Serenity.Gently he placed her body in front of her with the utmost care.Jose straightened himself u,but refused to meet her eyes.

Cole stopped just before them, then stepped to the side, and let Jose do his thing. He nodded Seth along side him.
"Now that this is basicly a done deal, I want you to try and taily Serenity once she's back in the human world. Try and figure out what her attachment his to the ghost boy over there. Stefan." He said explaining his full reasoning to needing Seth there.
Serenity looked up at Jose as he entered with Cole and Seth. No matter how hard she tryed, he wouldn't meet her eyes. finaly she gave up, and her eyes settled on her own body. She gave no reaction towards it, other then the inittial shock of seeing her body presevered.

Although he wasn't meeting her eyes he watched her face.Seeing the brief moment of shock and knowing her that well he said."The water protects it's own."Jose's voice was bleak but now had some tone of emotion in it.What that emotion was however was a mystery to himself.Turning to Stefan he asked "what now?"

Serenity nodded, and was about to answer, when he started talking to Stefan instead. She closed her mouth and looked down, her emotions closing in on her all at once. Stefan regaurded Jose carfully, knowing not only that Jose 'loved' her, but he also killed her. Even though he knew of the possesion, he didn't knwo this Jose, and wasn't sure of his feelings towards him. he took a breath and answered.
"Now Serenity" he gestured to her, "Must lay next to her body. While you lay on her souls other side." He said and cleared his throat uncomfertably. Serenity nodded after a moment then settled down beside her body, not daring to look at Jose's reaction.

He nodded at Stefan's instructions.He wasn't trying to hurt her by not addressing her,he just thought he wasn't worthy of it,of her to speak to him.Jose also could not bare to see her eyes,afraid of what he'd find there.If she hated him he'd understand she'd have every right,but he just could not stand to see that fact for himself.Soundlessly he laid beside Serenity's soul,not even caring that he might not be able to come back.He deserved to die.

Sereniyt watched as emotions played along his face. Slowly, hesitently she reatched her hand out and touched his as he lay beside her.

Jose closed his eyes tightly when she made contact with him,but whether because he needed it or he just didn't want to offend her he laced his fingers in between her's,his eyes opening again staring above him.

Serenity closed her eyes, as his hand tightend on hers. She didn't know if she was forgiven or he pittyed her for doing this, but she didn't care. She needed it.
Stefan turned to Seth. "I need you to kill Jose." He said bluntly.

He did not flinch at the words,his heartbeat did not speed up at the though of his swiftly coming demise.He had already accepted his death.But even his death he knew would never be enough to repay Serenity for what he had done.
