Mannah held herself tighter to Alex.She didn't want to feel this way about him. If you love something that just gives your enemies something to take. Wait she thought to herself Did i just think love? In her minds eye she sighed heavily, she didn't know what she felt.Because of her past,because of what she'd done Mannah had numbed herself from others,shutting down her emotions.But there was...something about Alex that had ripped the door opened, the door to that side of her that she had so painstakingly locked and blocked off from the rest of the world.Mannah mumbled to his chest not really intending for him to hear"your messed up"she aimed this comment at herself.

Alex stroked her head gently and looked at her with worried eyes. "What was that?" He asked clearly hearing what she said but wasn't sure if she meant it towards her or him. He noticed she was starting to think about if they where to be together they would both be in more danger. He didn't really trust anyone, other then her and his best friend since kindergarten, well more like middle school but he had never trusted anyone else since that day his parents died. He understood that their enemies would stop at nothing to hurt them. But he didnt want to be away from Mannah. He looked at her, his bright blue eye warm and soft on her. He gently brushed a strand of hair behind her ear then touched her cheek gently.

Mannah smiled up at him,but it was a weak one and it quickly fell."just talking to myself and going crazier by the minute"she laughed without humor as she leaned into his hand.A undefined connection is what they had.Or at least that was what she felt.Mannah knew she was being paranoid thinking of enimie's and how they could rip away what she cared deeply for,but living the life of a demi-god she knew all to well that it could happen.Besides Didn't Alex find her on the boarders of death?
